Hallo,
Ik ben Hans van der Stel en heb enige jaren in Puttershoek gewoond aan de Maasdamsedijk. Ik was soms te vinden in de lokale kroegen. Misschien kan iemand zich dat nog herinneren.

Vroeger, van 1964 -1966, wonede [lived] ik op
[???] 67 of 69 Schouteneinde [???] Weg. Ik was een klasgenoot
van Arion Ver Zijl. Als ik mag zou ik grag in engels door gaan.
I would love to hear from anyone in Puttershoek
who remembers me [Walter Lussenburg] or my sister Selma or brother
Jos. Today, I use my first name, which is Hans, but when I lived
in Puttershoek I went by the name of Walter. We lived across the
street from the Butchers Shop Mr. & Mrs. Hagendijk [sorry for the
spelling].
I visited Puttershoek briefly in the summer of
1982 when I was on leave from my Canadian War Ship HMCS Algonquin,
then stationed in Kiel Germany. I met Arion Ver Zijl again, who
by then was the 'Burgemeester' of Puttershoek who showed me and my
Aunt around.
I remember the Pub where Keese Ver Kerk lived
and I also remember that we used to go swimming near the
harbour, and jump into the inner harbour full of fresh sand when they
were repairing it one summer. Jan Van de Bot [???], the
Postmasters Son, was a friend of both myself and my older brother Jos
Lussenburg. He had an iron row boat that we used to play in
rowing up and down the canal behind our house.
